Change of Fuel dependence.
We have been talking about changing the source of all our winter warmth over for awhile.
After last years Rape job of oil delivery and a few talks with the guys down in the shop the Pellet solution started looking more and more like the way to go.
So we are going out today to check over our options and sometime in the next month I will be installing which ever one we decide to go with.
Not exciting... but just what is going on.

To play Devils Advocate for a second: my theory is so many people are going to change to pellet stoves that the cost of pellets will be driven threw the roof do to the unexpected demand! With that said - good for you guys for getting away from using oil. :)
Yeah I know the pellet thing can go back and forth but they can make more pellets...they can't make more oil once it is gone. So I guess I feel better about the pellets than straight out cutting down trees since the pellets are made of other wise wasted materials...We will see how it all works out. Having lots of options is always good. God knows I don't get any sun here or else I would do solar :)
I thought about it for awhile, and still think about it now and then. Not sure how I feel about the whole pellet stove except that I don't like being a slave to pellet makers any more than I like being a slave to oil companies. But sometimes I also kinda like the idea of having one..........
I am on the fence with this one, too! I have seen Joey at work go to Sam's club at 6 AM to have them tell him they are all sold out and seen him scramble and call people trying to find them! I like that they are renewable and made from wood but you have to dump in like a bag a day and I am not sure what kind of hassle you get if you forget and run out! I can't blame you guys for trying! Saving money is saving money!
Well we are not disconnecting the furnace :) Just going to have a couple of choices in hopes to save some money. I am sure there will be some crazy pellet scandals to discus LOL
Pellet scandals will be flying!!!
